What should you definitely do before leaving Braunschweig?

  9. Have a barbecue at Gauß Park.

  10. Get as many refills as possible when having lunch at one of the universitys cafeterias.

  11. Enjoy a summer day at Heidbergsee.

  12. Drink Wolters the most beloved local beer.

  13. With your student ID you can take trains in Lower Saxony for free in order to visit another big city or the North Sea.

  14. Enjoy food, drinks and music at Magnifest (in September).

  15. Eat Braunschweigs best frozen yoghurt at Erna & Käthe.

  16. Make a trip to Wolfsburg and visit the Autostadt, watch a football-Bundesliga match of VfLWolfsburg, an ice hockey match of Grizzly Adams or get a bargain at Designer OutletsWolfsburg.

  17. Enjoy a surprise movie at C1 Cinemas Sneak Peek every Monday at 20:45. A ticket costs only 5,50 € and the film is shown in English.

  18. Rent a canoe and cruise the Oker.

  19. Watch the movie Feuerzangenbowle in the universitys Audimax in December. Don't forget to bring lots of Glühwein and Christmas cookies. Get the tickets early, because they are sold out very fast.

  20. Drink Jägermeister. It is made in Wolfenbüttel, which is 12 km south of Braunschweig. So it's basically a suburb.

  21. Celebrate May Festival at the student dorm Schuntille on the 30th of April.

  22. Go hiking or mountain biking in the Harz Mountains.


What you definitely shouldn't do!!

  • Call Bruno a "sweet little kitten"
  • Drink water from the Oker
  • Ride a bike on the wrong side of the street
  • Ride one of the horses in front of the Schloss Arkaden
